Holiday Scrooge

My husband is a Holiday Scrooge. Every time I point out a cute holiday decoration or mention how I love a certain holiday he just rolls his eyes . The other day I mentioned how I love all the fall foods. That made no sense to him. I mean you can eat pizza and wings at all times of the year and that's all you need, right? But I was thinking about all the yummy soups and caramel and pumpkin desserts you eat in the Fall.

Anyways, much to his bemoaning and eye rolling we set up our Halloween decorations the other day. And when I say decorations, I mean the 5 things we have (2 of which I made this year).

One day he will be pulling multiple totes of stuff out of the garage to decorate for each holiday. So, he should be grateful for the 5 items he had to bring out this year:)

Newport Beach Villas

We had the chance to go with some dental school families to California where we stayed at the Marriott Newport Beach Villas. They were so nice and the pools were awesome . I could live there in a heartbeat. The weather was amazing too. We definitely didn't want to leave. It was so much fun spending so much time on the beach and soaking up the sun with our friends.

My favorite vacation place: I cant wait to go back. It might be years from now, when we make a decent living, but I will go back some day :)

Every morning she would eat cereal on the floor in our room.

The Beaches: We went to three different beaches while we were there. At the last beach, a big wave came up and soaked all our things. Luckily, Lorelai was close by and didn't get swept out to sea:)

The ladies.
Babies and Daddies.

My Favorite Day: We rented bikes and round along the boardwalk. It was so much fun even though my tire got a flat and I couldn't ride back. We got milkshakes on the pier, played at a park, and loved the beautiful weather.

The Dental Babies: The boys went to a baseball game and the moms went shopping.

Such a fun trip. Hope we will get to do it again sometime.

Get-Well Gift for "Paca"

When I was little I used to call my grandpa Paca. They tell me it was really cute and wish I hadn't grown out of it:) My grandpa just had back surgery and so we decided to send him a get-well gift.

We made little "medicine boxes" one for each day and put candy and a little note inside each one.

Some were words of wisdom and some were things to make him laugh. Travis and I had fun trying to think of funny things to send him. FYI: There are some really lame jokes out there.

I love my grandpa he is an amazing man.  Get well soon!

South Dakota Fun

Travis had a 3 WEEK BREAK from school at the end of August. So for the first week we went to South Dakota to visit his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. They had never met Lorelai. We had a lot of fun. Thanks to Travis' dad for helping us fly out there. Twenty-four hours in the car with a small child would have been miserable:)

South Dakota is so green and there are rows and rows of corn growing there. It was so amazing to me being a Nevada girl. The only other time I had been to South Dakota was in the winter so it was fun to see it all green and beautiful.
We loved getting to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa. Grandma, Travis, and I would stay up late every night playing cards.
Lorelai ate corn on the cob for the first time. She watched grandma eat hers and needed to have one of her own. She actually did really good eating it.
Travis and Grandpa got this old little motorcycle up and running. It was so much fun to ride around. Travis and Grandpa raced the golf cart and the motorcycle down the road.

Grandma always made sure we were well fed. Lorelai loved all the snacks, especially the marshmallows:) We ate so much food while we were there. Every house we would go to would serve us a huge dinner. It was amazing the amount of food they would have. It was all so good too.
Lorelai loved playing with her girl cousins. They would carry her around everywhere and she didnt mind at all.
Going on a walk with cousin Presley. They are only 2 or 3 days apart.
Kisses bye bye. These two were so cute to watch together.
Uncle Mark was a good sport pushing Lorelai around. Lorelai loved this car so much that her daddy bought her one when we got home.

Lorelai would sit on a little tin by grandpa's chair and watch the TV with him. She liked to be close to him.
We went to the Zoo one day. It was rainy and a lot of the animals weren't out but we had a fun time. She loved the carousel the most.

It was so fun to see and meet so much family. Hopefully it wont be too long before we can make another trip out there.

4th of July T-Shirt

Some friends and I made these shirts for our girls for 4th of July. We used my new awesome, amazing Silhouette Cameo to cut out the USA outline and also the star sewed onto the USA outline. We ironed them on and then hand stitched around the shapes. I think they turned out really cute.

Travis ditched us for the 4th and went hiking in Havasupai. He said it was the most awesome thing he has done. To which I replied,"Oh really?" Then he  quickly informed me that getting married and having Lorelai were of course better:)
