A day in the life of Lorelai!

Okay guys, since you have been asking i'll break it down for you. Here are somethings I like to do on a typical day:

I sleep...some days better than others but here is my most favorite position to sleep in.
Yep that's it... arms up and sprawled out. My mom tries to swaddle me up in this straight-jacket thing at night but don't worry I manage to break free.

I climb walls... Ya, you heard me right. I might only be 2 months old but I can climb walls here's the proof.
I also poop...and I have the occasional blow out. Look away if you have a weak stomach this next one is nasty. My mom tried changing me and I wasn't all the way done. It's not my fault so don't judge.
I swim... Me and mom go to this play group each week at a pool in someone's backyard. It's a really nice pool. When I get bigger I am gonna go down the slide. Also I just barely got to go for the first time with my daddy. I love the water!

What do you think of my shades. Pretty cute right?
I smile and I try to talk...to my mom and dad. Those guys are pretty cool! But you probably already knew that.
I play... Not for very long though. I like it better when mom or dad holds me.
Anyways there is just a little bit of what I can do. People say babies don't really do much. I guess I am an exception to the rule. Anyways, gotta get going there some more new things I want to try out. It's a big world we live in people and I am new here, I gotta get explorin'.

Blessing Day!

In our church a baby is given a blessing by her father after he/she is born. The father gives the baby her name and then she is given a blessing .

A few weeks ago was Lorelai's baby blessing. It was a special day for our little family.
Lorelai wore a dress that my mom bought for her. The dress has the same gatherings in the skirt as my wedding dress. That is the reason that we loved it so much:)
Doesn't she look beautiful. I was hoping and praying she wouldn't blow out on the dress. She is known for the occasional blow out. What baby isn't?! Also she is a spitter upper so I was really hoping she wouldn't do that either...and being the good baby that she is she did neither. She was even awake during the whole blessing and didn't make a sound.
My mom, little brother, and sister in law were able to be there. My little brother didn't wear that stuff to church he just changes out of church clothes at lightning speed...uh and he is really tall...we should trim our tree!

We love out precious baby girl. I am so thankful for a husband and father who gave her such a beautiful blessing and who loves her so much. She is a lucky girl...we both are lucky girls!!!

How to Survive Finals Week 101

Technically we have only survived one week of finals at this point....one more to go!! And yes I mean "we". Sure it is the worst for Travis, but we all suffer a little when finals come around.

So how do you survive?...Here is how we did it....

FIRST: Make Brazilian Lemonade. This comes from Best Bites and it is delicious. My favorite summertime drink by far! Plus, you will feel like a really great wife when you serve up some of this deliciousness to your husband who has been trapped in a room studying for hours on end.

SECOND: Play softball in the 100+ degree Vegas weather. Exercise relieves stress right? Really the baby and I just watch, but we chat with the other dental wives and that's just as good as exercise.
THIRD: Eat ColdStone ice cream. Ice cream fixes everything...especially ColdStone. If you don't believe me try it out for yourself. We got the baby her own "Love It" size. She couldn't eat it all though. Next time we will get her a smaller size :)
FOURTH: Let your baby study with you. One reason to let your baby study with you is so that mom can have a quick break and switch the laundry or something cool like that. Another reason, it is never too early to start developing good study habits. If this baby is gonna get into Harvard we gotta start now. Not really, but look how cute she is. She looks so interested in "Concepts of Polymers".
FIFTH: DO NOT give your baby shots the same week! Yep, if it can be avoided don't give your child shots the same week as finals. The baby just wants to be held and cuddled, which is fine with me. BUT, when dad is already busy all the time studying and at school it just means nothing else gets done around the house. Here she is trying to be a tough girl but she was pretty miserable!

Really finals week(s) are not that bad... for me anyways. There are worse things. But next time finals roll around the baby and I will be rolling out to visit family. Oh ya, and thanks Travis for being such a diligent student and doing so well in school. Really we do appreciate it!!

Collages - (of the baby of course!)

I love when Lorelai gets out of the bath and her hair is nice and fluffy and has some wave to it!
All of these faces happened within about 30 seconds of each other! Looks like she is having mood swings already :)
She was loving tummy time this day!

She is getting so big, so fast. We cant believe how much she has already changed and how quickly the time is passing. In some ways it seems like we just brought her home from the hospital yesterday. She makes our lives so much better in so many ways!
