Lorelai Turned 2

My pretty little girl turned 2 in June. Crazy. I made this tent for her and added a paper lantern to hang from the inside and a garland around the front. We filled the tent with all her presents.
She got this Sophia the First couch from mom and dad and she loved it.
I think her favorite part of the birthday was blowing out candles. She didn't quite get it at first but when she figured it out she wanted to do it over and over again.

After opening presents we went out and got frozen yogurt. Lorelai loves froze yogurt...actually we all do :)
Her birthday balloons that she woke up to in the morning. She was really excited to have her own "Happy Birthday balloons" as she would say over and over when she first got them.

During the day while daddy was at school we got together with her friends Jake and Carly for a little fun at Mcdonalds:)

I can't believe my baby girl is already 2. Time really does fly by. I love her so much. She is my best buddy and makes me smile and laugh all the time. Love you sweet girl.

May Wedding

In May Travis's sweet sister Jenae got married. Lorelei was the flower girl. We had tons of fun getting to see family we hadn't seen in a long time.
This girls eyes are my favorite thing.
Family from South Dakota. I think they are just happy to not be on the road traveling :)
Our happy little family!
She was thrilled about the wedding! She was being such a stinker all she wanted to do was dance.
Cute pic of brother and sister.
This girl danced the night away. She dance and danced and danced. She would bow after every song and it was so adorable :)

We are so happy for Scott and Jenae. They are a great couple and we know they will have a happy life together.

How To Have Fun In Newport CA

We have vacationed in Newport for the past two years with some friends from Dental School and we love it. Here is how we like to have fun in Newport:
Newport Beach Villas: Stay at the Newport Beach Villas by Marriott. (This is only possible for us right now because a friend gets a big discount.) This is the view from the main building. AMAZING...that's the ocean out there :)

Swim in the awesome pools. The weather was't too great while we were there so we had the pool all to ourselves one morning.
Newport Beach: Go to Newport Beach..of all the beaches around the area we like Newport the best. Here is a few reasons why....
- You can spot cute little babes!
- You can play in perfect, soft sand.
- You can rent bikes and you can ride along the boardwalk and see all the beach houses.

Ruby's: With our bikes we also rode to Ruby's which is a little diner out on the pier. We saw whales while we were out on the pier. It was so cool.

Jane's Corndogs: Right on the boardwalk across from the beach. So so good!
Seaside Donuts: Also right on the boardwalk and a must when you go to Newport Beach.

Balboa Island: We took a ferry to Balboa Island. While there get a Balboa Bar. YUMMY :)
Rose Bakery: In Corona Del Mar and seriously so good. The raspberry lemonade, donuts, and breakfast burrito. So good. We went twice :)

Tesla Store: This is at Fashion Island. Travis was in heaven. You can sit in the cars and learn all about them. Travis was like a kid in a candy store.
Casey's Cupcakes: If you are a fan of the show Cupcake Wars then you should go here. They won Cupcakes Wars and the Red Velvet cupcake was really good.
Lemonade: We weren't to sure about this restaurant in Fashion Island but we decided to give it a try. Totally worth it. So YUMMY. We can't wait to go back next time.

I am realizing now that most of these things are food or revolve around food but thats what makes a trip great anyways right?!? If you ever get the chance to vacation in Newport, go do these things. You will not be disappointed. We had so much fun!!!

Easter Fun

We took Lorelai to the temple grounds to walk around and take pictures of her in her Easter dress. I want to do this every year with our kids in their Easter outfits. There is a special feeling even when you are just on the grounds.
Travis couldn't resist smelling the flowers :) Actually he was demonstrating for Lorelai so she would do the same.
Our beautiful little princess!
Lorelei's first experience dying easter eggs.
We had a little easter egg hunt with friends on the Saturday before Easter. I was so surprised how easily she caught on to finding the eggs. She was really good at it and loved it :)
Checking out all the candy and goods she got. She made $6. She bought us drinks at Sonic that day :)
Easter morning baskets with Daddy.
And of course Easter would not be complete without LOTS of Cadbury Eggs :)

Spring Break Staycation...Again :)

This year for Spring Break we hung out at home again. We had lots of fun and loved having daddy home:)
We went to the St. Patrick's Day Parade. Let me just say it was ten times better than the parades in the small town we grew up in....BUT...Travis and I decided some rules that should be put in place for parades to make them more enjoyable. If you care to hear them just ask:)
This was my view walking back from the parade. (That we left before it was over.)Notice anything totally embarassing....HINT: The sucker stuck to his rear!
We went to Red Rock Canyon and did a little bit of exploring. Lorelei loved "climbing" & I love this picture of her and Travis.
We had a picnic in the back of the Jeep at Red Rock. Lorelei LOVED it. She thought it was the greatest.
We went to tons of parks.
Lorelei did some work on her laptop and phone. She is a busy woman:)

We went to Lake Mead with some friends and cooked hot dogs and smores over the fire. We are looking forward to going back when the water is warm enough to swim in.

We love Spring Break!

Activity Day Prayer Reminder Rugs

I have been the Activity Day leader in my church for 3 years. So coming up with new fun activities can sometimes be challenging. I turn to Pinterest and the Internet all the time for help. I love being able to find so many fun ideas. So I thought I'd share an idea that I came up with and maybe it will help someone else out one day:)

I found these rugs at the dollar store. Pretty cute for a dollar huh. Then I created a stencil of the word pray and the flowers. I used contact paper (with the silhouette of course) to make the stencil. of the word Pray and the flowers. Then each girl had a stencil that they put on their rug and painted whatever colors they wanted. The girls had lots of fun and they turned out really cute!
