Get-Well Gift for "Paca"

When I was little I used to call my grandpa Paca. They tell me it was really cute and wish I hadn't grown out of it:) My grandpa just had back surgery and so we decided to send him a get-well gift.

We made little "medicine boxes" one for each day and put candy and a little note inside each one.

Some were words of wisdom and some were things to make him laugh. Travis and I had fun trying to think of funny things to send him. FYI: There are some really lame jokes out there.

I love my grandpa he is an amazing man.  Get well soon!

South Dakota Fun

Travis had a 3 WEEK BREAK from school at the end of August. So for the first week we went to South Dakota to visit his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. They had never met Lorelai. We had a lot of fun. Thanks to Travis' dad for helping us fly out there. Twenty-four hours in the car with a small child would have been miserable:)

South Dakota is so green and there are rows and rows of corn growing there. It was so amazing to me being a Nevada girl. The only other time I had been to South Dakota was in the winter so it was fun to see it all green and beautiful.
We loved getting to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa. Grandma, Travis, and I would stay up late every night playing cards.
Lorelai ate corn on the cob for the first time. She watched grandma eat hers and needed to have one of her own. She actually did really good eating it.
Travis and Grandpa got this old little motorcycle up and running. It was so much fun to ride around. Travis and Grandpa raced the golf cart and the motorcycle down the road.

Grandma always made sure we were well fed. Lorelai loved all the snacks, especially the marshmallows:) We ate so much food while we were there. Every house we would go to would serve us a huge dinner. It was amazing the amount of food they would have. It was all so good too.
Lorelai loved playing with her girl cousins. They would carry her around everywhere and she didnt mind at all.
Going on a walk with cousin Presley. They are only 2 or 3 days apart.
Kisses bye bye. These two were so cute to watch together.
Uncle Mark was a good sport pushing Lorelai around. Lorelai loved this car so much that her daddy bought her one when we got home.

Lorelai would sit on a little tin by grandpa's chair and watch the TV with him. She liked to be close to him.
We went to the Zoo one day. It was rainy and a lot of the animals weren't out but we had a fun time. She loved the carousel the most.

It was so fun to see and meet so much family. Hopefully it wont be too long before we can make another trip out there.

4th of July T-Shirt

Some friends and I made these shirts for our girls for 4th of July. We used my new awesome, amazing Silhouette Cameo to cut out the USA outline and also the star sewed onto the USA outline. We ironed them on and then hand stitched around the shapes. I think they turned out really cute.

Travis ditched us for the 4th and went hiking in Havasupai. He said it was the most awesome thing he has done. To which I replied,"Oh really?" Then he  quickly informed me that getting married and having Lorelai were of course better:)

Fun Activities for Our One Year Old!

Lorelai is a busy girl. Here are some of the things that she has been up to lately:
Balancing on dad's push-up bars. That takes some talent to climb up on those and stay balanced.

Eat bananas. A favorite treat lately.
Play at the mall play place. Although this can be a little dangerous. She was bit by a little girl one day and another day a boy tried to push her down the stairs from the top of the slide.

Play at the park. She could go down the slide over and over all day long if we would let her. She will go down big slides all by herself too.
Go visit the puppies at Pet's Mart or Petland, although Pet's Mart smells a lot better than Petland. The white puppy in this picture loved Lorelai. It would follow Lorelai around and come right up to the window and look at her everytime we came by.
This is my favorite :) Read books. She will crawl up into her little chair and sit and read books. She babbles and turns pages and it is so cute.

A Baby and Her Elephant

Each month we took a picture of Lorelai and her elephant in the pink chair in her room. I am so glad we did this. It is so fun to look back on and to see how much she has changed.

It is so fun to watch her grow up. I do miss that snugly little baby though.

Mother Daughter Weekend

The annual Mother Daughter Weekend took place recently. Each year my grandma and her two daughters get together for a weekend of fun. Luckily, this year it was in Vegas. So I was able to join in on the fun. We went to a Donny and Marie concert. It actually was really awesome. I recommend it. Those people can sing. Who knew going to your mom's childhood crush's concert could be so much fun :) We also went to the temple and Lorelai, Travis, and I did a little swimming at their hotel pool.

"Mom lets try really hard to keep our eyes open when the flash goes off."
